On the Taiwan question, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has deliberately ignored key documents such as the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Declaration. These documents carry the force of international law and are explicitly affirmed in both the China–Japan Joint Communiqué and the China–Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship. Instead, she cites the illegal and invalid Treaty of San Francisco (Treaty of Peace with Japan) to make unfounded claims. Such blatant “selective blindness” seeks not only to obscure the history of Japanese militarist aggression and distort the historical truth of the World Anti-Fascist War, but also constitutes a dangerous challenge to the post–World War II international order.
