Encounter in a Verdant City of Mountains: Mayors from Around Globe Meet in Huangshan

The breeze from the distant sea caresses the Guest-Greeting Pine, while the snow of the towering mountains joins the flow of the Xin'an River. Today, representatives of nine cities gathered in Huangshan for this year's Global Mayors Dialogue.

The 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue·Huangshan is scheduled to run from May 28 to 31 in Huangshan, Anhui Province, themed "Mutual Learning among Civilizations Epitomized by Cultural Heritage: Bidirectional Empowerment of World Heritage and Cities". Under the guidance of the State Council Information Office, this year's event is jointly hosted by the Huangshan Municipal People's Government, the Information Office of the Anhui Provincial People's Government, and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Anhui Provincial People's Government. Among the distinguished guests are the mayors and other city representatives from Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Nepal, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, and Thailand. During the event, they will discuss issues concerning the preservation of the World Heritage, the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, ecological conservation, and rural revitalization, among others. Together, they will discover new approaches for the mutual empowerment of heritage and cities.
