Fu Hongyu: Open-Source AI Offers Greatest Consensus for Future Global Governance

The 2026 WIC Global Elite Training-Future Digital Leadership Development Workshop started on November 2 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province.

Fu Hongyu, Director of the AI Governance Center of Alibaba Research Institute and a member of the Data Governance Working Group (DGWG) of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD), delivered a lecture under the theme "Make Open-source AI a Global Open Resource for the Intelligent Era".

In an interview, Fu said that open source enables cooperation in the field of AI, and that such cooperation lays the foundation for global governance and offers the greatest consensus for future international governance.
