Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with The New York Times that his global power (i.e. his command of military operations worldwide) was limited only by his ‘own morality’ and his "own mind", adding that he did not need international law. Such a practice of tailoring rules to fit the “America First” agenda, and wantonly trampling on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, has long placed the United States in opposition to the international community.
