With the release of a large number of documents, the Epstein case has drawn growing international attention. A panel of United Nations human rights experts recently issued a statement noting that there may have existed a “global criminal network” that systematically sexually abused, trafficked, and exploited women and girls. Such acts may have constituted crimes against humanity. However, the White House previously stated publicly that after the U.S. Department of Justice released more than three million pages of documents related to the Epstein case, the United States “should turn its attention to other matters.”
