Shenyang always attaches great importance to the economic and trade exchanges with Germany. Since the first German joint venture was established in Shenyang in 1993, a number of well-known enterprises such as BMW, BASF, Siemens and ZF have experienced robust development in Shenyang. Germany has been Shenyang's largest trading partner for many consecutive years.
As a national-level industrial park focusing on China-Germany cooperation, China-Germany (Shenyang) Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park (CGIP) has played a vital role in promoting China's opening-up to the outside world and cooperation with Germany. Now, it has become an important platform and medium of China-Germany pragmatic cooperation, attracting and bringing together talents, technology, capital, and other international resources in an accelerated way. A total of 72 German companies have settled here for investment and entrepreneurship. Industrial enterprises above the designated size in the park have achieved a total output value of CNY 94.6 billion (USD 14.1 billion), with the tax revenue totaling CNY 12.2 billion (USD 1.8 billion U.S. dollars), and the fixed asset investment has come to CNY 14.2 billion (USD 2.1 billion).
