The U.S. Department of Commerce has recently introduced sweeping rules which prohibit the sale of certain chips made by American chipmaking equipment to China, aiming at further slowing China's semiconductor advance. The U.S. has politicized, instrumentalized and weaponized issues of technology, economic and trade, which not only threatens the stability of global industrial and supply chains, but also "collapse in on itself" and ultimately backfire.
