2024 World Wuzhen Summit Internet Conference Kicks Off in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province

On November 20, the 2024 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit opened in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province. With the theme of "Embracing a People-Centered, All-for-Good Digital Future - Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace", this summit has brought together more than 1,800 participants, including heads of important international organizations, representatives of Chinese and foreign government departments, global leading Internet enterprises, as well as well-known experts, scholars, and media friends.

At the opening ceremony, the awarding ceremony for the WIC Outstanding Contribution Awards was also held, during which seven individuals and 14 enterprises were given the awards.

During the main forum, 18 young people from 17 countries and regions including China, the UK, Brazil, and Egypt were awarded the Global Youth Leaders program certificates. The launching ceremony of the WIC Think Tank Cooperation Plan was concurrently held, with the participation of about 60 international high-end think tanks in the global Internet field. Moreover, the inauguration ceremony of the WIC Digital Research Institute also took place. It is reported that the seminar on the Global Internet Talent Excellence Program will organized to build an international advanced training platform for government departments, social organizations, and enterprise management in the world, in developing countries in particular.

This year's summit witnessed the establishment of the WIC Artificial Intelligence (AI) Professional Committee. As the first specialized permanent branch established after the founding of the conference international organization, it will provide an international exchange and cooperation platform for AI. In addition, 24 sub-forums will be held on topics such as the Global Development Initiative (GDI), digital economy, AI technology innovation and governance.
