In 2024, the Wenzhou Municipal Government signed an agreement with Geely Holding Group, marking the official launch of the Geely Remote New Energy Commercial Vehicle Project in Taishun County. This represented not only a significant strategic foothold for Geely's continued development in Zhejiang Province but also a crucial step forward in Wenzhou's high-quality development. Additionally, it marked the beginning of a new chapter for Taishun County's new energy industry.
Wenzhou's Ten Policy Measures to Support the New Energy Vehicle Industry propose preferential treatment for new energy projects in mountainous counties, including land use, tax incentives, and subsidies. State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company has developed tailored power solutions for these regions through its "One County, One Policy" service mechanism. For instance, in the Taishun Economic Development Zone, State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company, Geely Remote, and Wenzhou Transportation Group jointly built a demonstration station integrating "photovoltaic, storage, and charging" systems. This model is gradually being promoted across the region.
Geely Remote commercial vehicles run on methanol fuel, which can be produced from agricultural and forestry waste in mountainous areas. Meanwhile, State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company's "Rural Microgrid" project integrates distributed photovoltaic systems with methanol production. It helps farmers increase their income through straw recycling. According to statistics, Taishun has established five village-level methanol raw material collection stations, generating an average annual income increase of over 10,000 yuan per household. This provides a model for mountainous counties to explore the "new energy + power synergy" approach.
As the new energy industry expands in mountainous counties, State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company plans to strengthen its collaboration on methanol hydrogen energy. By 2025, Zhejiang Province will initiate the construction of the "Mountain Hydrogen Corridor" and deploy 20 integrated energy stations in Taishun, Wencheng, and other areas on the basis of Geely Remote's methanol hydrogen technology. State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company will be responsible for building the supporting power networks and energy storage facilities. Additionally, it will monitor real-time energy supply and demand in mountainous regions through its "Digital Grid" platform to enhance resource allocation efficiency. (Written by Liu Jinyan)
