Recently, on the occasion of the 30th World Reading Day, young employees of State Grid Huanggang Power Supply Company and international students from Morocco, Malawi, and other countries participated in a cultural exchange activity themed “Reciting Classic Poems and Appreciating Dongpo’s Culture” at Dongpo Chibi Park.

The event began with a collective recitation of Su Shi’s iconic “Niannujiao: Memories of the Ancient Red Cliff.” Foreign friends, dressed in authentic Song-style Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing), dramatically performed the poem’s celebrated lines: “The mighty river flows eastward, washing away thousands of years of legendary figures,” under the guidance of instructors. During the event, State Grid youth employees guided international students through Dongpo Park, explaining the nuances of classical Chinese poetry. The cultural immersion peaked as attendees practiced making Song Dynasty rubbings—an ancient Chinese preservation technique—under expert guidance.

This event was not only a poetic feast but also a vivid expression of the modern expression of traditional culture. Moving forward, State Grid Huanggang Power Supply Company will continue developing its “Scholarly State Grid” brand initiative and actively promote the integration of Dongpo culture into global cultural currents.
