The project involves a broad operational scope, high-risk procedures, and frequent cross-task activities, presenting considerable challenges for on-site safety management. To ensure safety throughout the large-scale maintenance, the Substation Maintenance Center of State Grid Lanzhou Power Supply Company prepared detailed overhaul plans in advance, set up on-site information boards displaying personnel assignments and safety measures, and strengthened on-site supervision and remote monitoring.

The 330kV Yongdeng Substation plays a critical role in powering industrial and agricultural operations in the region, as well as supplying electricity to the Yongdeng section of the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway. Once completed, the upgraded #1 main transformer will mark the commissioning of the first NX2 intelligent substation in Yongdeng, boosting the regional power supply capacity by 60 percent. This upgrade is expected to significantly enhance grid reliability and provide strong support for local industrial development, renewable energy integration, and railway transportation services.
