This summer, high temperatures combined with heavy rainfall have led to a sustained surge in electricity demand, placing extra pressure on the power grid. Recently, a line connector clamp on a 10-kV power line in urban Zhengzhou was found to be severely overheating. To ensure reliable power supply for over a thousand nearby households, State Grid Zhengzhou Power Supply Company swiftly conducted live-line working to eliminate the hazard.

Upon receiving the emergency dispatch, the repair crew immediately proceeded to the fault site to survey the environment and implement necessary safeguards, including load transfer measures. Two technicians then ascended to the utility pole using an aerial lift. While the line remained energized, they dismantled the overheating component and installed a new one. The entire operation was completed in approximately 40 minutes, successfully removing the hazard and ensuring uninterrupted service for surrounding customers.
To maintain stable power supply during the hot weather, State Grid Zhengzhou Power Supply Company has activated its high-temperature response protocol and remains fully prepared for any contingencies. Repair crews have already been dispatched to four separate sites, addressing multiple potential supply risks through live-line maintenance procedures.
Amid the frequent extreme weather events, State Grid Zhengzhou continuously monitors weather patterns and electricity demand, strengthens grid equipment operations and emergency preparedness measures, and dynamically adjusts inspection schedules based on meteorological alerts.
