“Parsons Music Corporation” 16th China·Wuhan International Horse Racing Festival Kicked off at Orient Horse City International Racecourse

Recently, “Parsons Music Corporation” 16th China·Wuhan International Horse Racing Festival kicked off at Orient Horse City International Racecourse. Cheng Qing, secretary of Chinese Equestrian Association (CEA) and Hu Gongmin, director of the Sports Bureau of Hubei province struck the gong symbolizing the officially opening of the festival, and then Wang Shenshun, director of the Sports Bureau of Wuhan Municipality delivered an address. 

With the theme of Showing International Elements, Presenting Popular Factors and Sharing Great Happiness, the festival consisted of events such as 2018 National Flat Racing Tournament, 2018 Wuhan Flat Racing Tournament, 2018 Wuhan Flat Racing Open Tournament and 2018 Wuhan Jump Racing Challenge. Also there were various activities being organized, including Winners of the Leading Horses, Nights for Horse Owners, To Be Horse Owners, the Show of Hats and so on. A song “I Love You, China” performed by the Parsons Piano Group, echoed in the air, marking the open of the Wuhan International Horse Racing Festival.

The festival called together distinguished guests from the Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU), the Bordeaux Jockey Club, the Japan Racing Association (JRA), the Korea Racing Authority (KRA), the Jeju Jockey Club, the Perak Turf Club, the Maryland Horse Industry Board and others. Ambassadors from the America, Britain, France and Korea Consul Generals in Wuhan also presented there, and the competitions were participated by riders from eleven countries such as Britain, Ireland, Australia, France and Cyprus.

Cheng Qing, secretary of Chinese Equestrian Association (CEA), extended his sincerely congratulations to the 16th China·Wuhan International Horse Racing Festival. Cheng said that the festival, with strong racing atmosphere, attracted highly attention from international racing sectors. When it comes to Wuhan, racing events always firstly cross people’s minds. Wuhan racing has already become a representative of China’s racing. Under the support of corporations and government, Wuhan spent 16 years to develop racing sports, which has deeply rooted in Wuhan culture. Besides the professional racing competitions, horse fans are also enthusiastic about the racing. Cheng places great expectations on the development of Wuhan racing and the Orient Horse City International Racecourse. He hopes that Wuhan could be a significant city to China’s ricing sports, similar to what Paris to France and Melbourne to Australia in racing. He also wished that Wuhan would won its fame and be a new star among international horse racing.
