On October 23, 2020, the launching ceremony of the 2020 "100 Reasons to Love Beijing" themed short video contest, hosted by the Information Office of Beijing Municipality and organized by the Beijing International Studies University (BISU), was held at BISU. Entries have to be submitted in the form of short videos and the contest calls for the stories in Beijing through the lens of foreigners, painting a picture of why they are in love with the city.

Two overseas students hailing from South Sudan and Mexico shared their views about Beijing. According to them, Beijing is not just an ancient capital with a splendid history, but also a future-oriented capital with rapid development and great potential.
International students present at the event believed that nowadays more foreigners in the world need a better and deeper understanding of Beijing. These students wish to shoot short videos to share their views about Beijing, a beautiful city full of charm and surprises.

According to the organizers, there will be an open call for short videos from foreign people such as international experts, corporate employees and students at home and abroad. The short videos should display how and why individuals have fallen in love with Beijing. The contest strives to present a vivid and accurate picture of Beijing's urban landscapes, culture and people's day to day life.
