Yuzhong District, one of the districts in Chongqing, China, has seen a peak of tourism this May Day. Ms. Zhao, a tourist from Xi'an, went to Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street by high-speed train with her family.

When Ms. Zhao walked into Qianye Art Gallery on Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, gorgeous art pieces on display slowed her down. Qianye Art Gallery was only used as Qianye Optical Shop. However, the shop is not only used for selling eyeglasses, but also used as an art gallery, where some of the artworks of artists from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute are exhibited. This is because the owner wishes that the visitors can enjoy the beauty of art in the shop.
Li Yuanyuan, the curator of Qianye Art Gallery introduced that the gallery, as a new operation model that had integrated art exhibition and commercial factors, was a place for not only the release of avant-garde art pieces, but also the operation of fashion business. As a new landmark on Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, the gallery has renewed the commercial mode of traditional optical shops, and integrated business, art, and eye health.

A principal of Jiefangbei CBD Management Committee said that the change of Qianye Art Gallery was an epitome of the development of the business area surrounding Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. Since 2018, commercial carrier of 12 hectare in Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street has been upgraded and reconstructed. In addition, twenty flagship shops have been newly introduced to the street, with the total number over 100.
In five aspects such as building the whole block into a nation-level pedestrian street, the local government is in the effort to build Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street into a street of fashion consumption, a street of history and culture, a national demonstrative business street, and a world-famous urban street.
