On October 29th, 2019, the South Optical Valley Great Health Industrial Park, located in Jiangxia District, Wuhan of Hubei Province, held a ceremony of the programs constructions. This marked the completion of the preparatory stage of the park and the start of its construction stage. The project is of great significance to the development of the health industry in Jiangxia District.

The construction of the South Optical Valley Great Health Industrial Park is a major decision for Wuhan to implement the strategy of “Healthy China” and to establish the fifth national industry base. In April, 2019, at the first World Health Expo, the park debuted and signed contracts with 10 health industry companies, including China National Biotec Group Co., Ltd. and Wuhan East Lake High Technology Group Co., Ltd. With a planning area of 98.1 square kilometers, the park is divided into three industrial development zones: Zhengdian, Miaoshan, Wulijie. It is planned to build biological medicine, medical device, health service, health finance and medicine circulation clusters in 10 years and strive to achieve annual tax revenue of 10 billion RMB, annual output value of 100 billion RMB and absorb 50, 000 employees.

A total of 16.5 billion RMB has been invested into the key programs including a second headquarter of China National Biotec Group Co., Ltd. & New Vaccine Production Base, Wuhan East Lake High Technology Group Co., Ltd., and Jiangxia Research And Development Center And Public Service Center. After its construction, the clusters of biological health industry will further show their advantages and benefits. Furthermore, they will continue to increase their capability in independent innovation and industry bearing capacity.
