On April 26, 2013, the first Rong-Europe Express Train [hereinafter referred to as the China-Europe Railway (Chengdu)] started from the Qingbaijiang district and set up an international large-scale international freight transport route for land transportation from western China and even coastal areas to Europe, which fundamentally broke the history of western China's development of an export-oriented economy must rely on shipping ports. It has also made Qingbaijiang as the "second eye" for Chengdu to look at the world, and provided important support for the transformation and development of Qingbaijiang district. It makes the Qingbaijiang district closely connected with Eurasian countries.

In April 2017, China's only China (Sichuan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, which was established on the basis of railway ports, came into being, making the Qingbaijiang district as an important part of the national test field.
