22 Foreign Media Visiting the Hometown of Pandas Online, Focusing on the Poverty Alleviation Achievements in Sichuan

On February 29th, "Decode a Happy China via Cloud Tours", Foreign Media Online Interview of "China experience·Local Samples" -- characteristic industries contribute to poverty alleviation activity was held online in Shaanxi province and Sichuan province. 22 mainstream media from Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and other countries attended. This activity aims to spread the useful experience of poverty alleviation in China, and more people could see the poverty alleviation achievements all over China.

Jiaona Village in Garze Prefecture is a typical poor village in the Tibetan areas of the plateau. Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the designated support unit, helped Jiaona Village shake off poverty successfully through changing local people’s thought of dependence, improving the infrastructure and developing industries with local conditions. Jiaona Village has become a new civilized countryside for living, working and travelling.

Guangyuan city, in Sichuan province, locates in the concentrated poor area in Qinba Mountain. The secret of Guangyuan to get rid of poverty is adhering to the development of industry as a fundamental strategy. Guangyuan has created a "three parks" model of counties building modern agricultural park, villages building characteristic industrial park to achieve "every village owning one product", and every family building self-improvement park to eliminate poverty. The industries have covered all the poor villages and poor households. In the end of 2019, all seven poor counties in Guangyuan have eliminated poverty, with the incidence of poverty dropping to 0.06%.

Since the launch of  "targeted poverty alleviation", registered poor people in Sichuan province decreased from 6.25 million at the end of 2013 to 200 thousand at the end of 2019, with an annual reduction of more than 1 million. And the incidence of poverty dropped from 9.6% to 0.3%.
