A reporting activity, "Decode a Happy China via Cloud Tours Foreign Media Online Interview - Show a Happy Yulin by Desertification Control and Green Land Restoration" was held on October 29.

During the event, journalists from 22 mainstream media outlets of 12 countries learnt about local development in recent years, and gave special attention to the Yulin Economic and Technological Development Zone (Yushen Industrial Zone).

With the completion of a coal comprehensive utilization project, the development zone has established a complete industrial chain that turns coal into methyl alcohol, polyolefin and other chemical products, and an intensive coal processing industry featuring a complete technique route and a whole line of products has taken shape.

Meantime, a coal-based new chemical material project that is under construction is expected to further increase the utilization rate of coal ore and the overall efficiency of the coal industry after it's completed and put into operation.

"Today, Yulin has become a key driver for Shaanxi's economic development, a major energy provider of China and a state-level modern coal chemical industry demonstration zone," said Li Xiaowei, a fourth-class researcher with Yulin's municipal development and reform commission.

A domestically leading and internationally first-class high-end energy and chemical industry base is taking form in Yulin.

The city is set to continue to pursue high-quality development, adjust its industrial structure and step up the transformation from an energy-based city to an innovative city, setting an example for the upgrading of the energy economy in the country.
