Backbone of Civilization - the First Great Wall Culture Development Forum Successfully Held in Dandong

Hushan Great Wall in Liaoning Province and Jiayuguan Great Wall in Gansu Province face each other from afar, one in the east and the other in the west. Recently, Hushan Great Wall and Jiayuguan Great Wall have been "linked" despite the distance.

On December 23, "Backbone of Civilization - the First Great Wall Culture Development Forum" was held in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. Themed on  "Backbone of Civilization", the forum was intended to enhance exploration of the Great Wall cultural value, inheritance and protection of cultural heritage, vigorously promote the Great Wall spirit and culture, attract attention from the whole society to the construction of the Great Wall National Cultural Park, boosting the integration of the Great Wall culture and elements of the times, and injecting vitality into inheritance of the Great Wall culture which has a long history.

Liaoning Province is now where the remains of the Great Wall from the Warring States period (Yan State), Qin, Han, Liao and Ming Dynasties are located, and they extend for 1,295 kilometers and cover 13 cities in the province.

The forum also included a visit to Hushan Great Wall, exhibition of the Great Wall themed intangible cultural heritage, display of the Great Wall themed cultural and creative products and cultural research achievements.
