Remarks: The Shougang Industrial Park took the opportunity provided by the Winter Olympics to transform itself from an abandoned industrial site into a venue for the Games. This renovation was in line with Beijing's tenets of "green, inclusive, open, and clean" in terms of hosting the Games and with sustainable development, and breathed new life into this former steel mill.
