Daka China: Meet at The Yangtze River Delta - Online International & Communicative Activity was officially launched at the Magnolia Tower in Shanghai on June 22. The activity is directed by the Internet Communication Bureau of the Cyberspace Administration of China, and co-organized by the cyberspace administrations of Shanghai Municipality, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province and CRI Online of China Media Group.
The activity scheduled to conclude on June 27 is planned to take a group of international online influencers on a tour to four node cities in the Yangtze River Delta region, namely, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Huangshan. The integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta was determined as a national strategic programme of China in November 2018, so during the tour the participating foreign internet celebrities and social media bloggers will focus around the eco-environmental protection, infrastructure connectivity, industrial innovation and people's livelihood services, and take a closer look at the results of integrated high-quality development of the region from multiple perspectives.

Zhang Yong, Deputy Director-General and First-level Inspector of the Internet Communication Bureau of the Cyberspace Administration of China, attended the launching ceremony and stated that, this year marks the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and also the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). The Yangtze River Delta, covering the municipality of Shanghai and the three provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, is one of the most economically developed regions in China. He hoped that the foreign online influencers would explore highlights of this region through their lenses and narrate stories in their own languages to present a true, multi-dimensional and panoramic view of China.

Yang Jun, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Cyberspace Affairs Office, extended warm welcome to the online influencers to visit Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region. She hoped all participants would take the chance to feel the vibe and vigor of this region through this tour.

“Until I actually came to China myself and saw China with my own eyes. I realized Western media’s description of China is completely inaccurate,” said Jason, a British video blogger. He spoke on behalf of the participating foreign internet celebrities that “during this past decade I witnessed the incredible speed at which China can improve and develop”. Jason's wife comes from Guizhou Province where it is very difficult terrain to deal with but he witnessed the construction of massive bridges, tunnels, expressways, and high speed rail traversing this vast mountainous region.
After the launching ceremony, the international group of online influencers stepped onto the helipad on top of the Magnolia Tower for a panoramic view of Shanghai. The Magnolia Tower is known as the landmark of the city as it stands 320-meter high on the west bank of the Huangpu River and boasts a unique magnolia flower-alike roof design.

Next, according to the plan, foreign online influencers on the tour will travel to visit multiple iconic sites such as the site for the first National Congress of the CPC, Pathe Villa (site for initial recording of China's national anthem) and Wukang Road in Shanghai, the Intelligent Manufacturing Integration Development Center of Suzhou, Xin'an River Landscape Gallery Scenic Area in Huangshan, and Guali Qicai Future Community in Hangzhou.
