The 14th National Games of the People's Republic of China Open in Xi'an

At 20:00 on September 15, the 14th National Games of the People's Republic of China opened at Xi'an Olympic Sports Center, Shaanxi Province.

At the opening ceremony, guard of honor, flag bearers, and representative referees walked to the podium, followed by 37 delegations of representative athletes. The audience broke into rapturous applause.

The cultural and sports performance of the 14th National Games of the People's Republic of China consisted of the prelude "Welcoming Drum Performance", and the three sections - "National Roots", "Yan'an Spirit" and "Chinese Dream", fully echoing the theme of "Games for All, Together in Mind and Action'.

Torch relay and main torch lighting of the 14th National Games were extremely exciting. Thousands of spectators saw the five torchbearers, namely Su Bingtian, Zhang Yufei, Qin Kai, Guo Wenjun and Ma Long, pass on the torch. Finally, Yang Qian, the first gold medal recipient at Tokyo Olympics, lit the main flame in the venue.

The 14th National Games will be closed on September 27. More than 12,000 athletes will take part in competitive events, and more than 10,000 amateur competitors will fight for glory at mass programs.
