Intangible Cultural Heritage in Jiang'an District, Wuhan, Hubei Province Shows the Beauty of Folk Customs

Recently, at the 11th International Kite Festival held in Jiang'an District, Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, the intangible cultural heritage exhibition area attracted the attention of Chinese and foreign guests. The inheritors of more than a dozen intangible heritage techniques in Jiang'an District displayed superb skills on the spot, showing the beauty of intangible heritage.

In recent years, Jiang'an District has promoted the integrated development of intangible cultural heritage and tourism, which has given new vitality to the high-quality intangible cultural heritage projects in the district.

On Jiqing Street, Jiang'an District is working hard to create a gathering place for folk customs and stores selling dishes and snacks listed as intangible cultural heritage, and display intangible cultural heritage on the street. The intangible cultural heritage market is also an important cultural landscape on Jiqing Street. The intangible cultural heritage has become visible, touchable and edible. Countless Chinese and foreign tourists experience the intangible cultural heritage, learn about folk customs, and feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture here.

Jiang'an District has achieved remarkable results in the protection of intangible cultural heritage. Up to now, there are 1 national-level intangible cultural heritage project, 7 provincial-level intangible cultural heritage projects, and 17 municipal intangible cultural heritage projects. With more than 100 inheritors of these projects, the district has been witnessing the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage.
