Abbas Ali from Pakistan joined "Yang Leifeng" Volunteers' Association after being enrolled at Central China Normal University in 2018 for his Ph.D. degree. He went to primary and secondary schools to interact with children, aiming for international cultural exchange. Over the past four years, Ali has devoted himself to learning professional knowledge and understanding the daily life of the locals in Wuhan. He has also injected love into this city.
Ali's vision of Chinese society is being reshaped and updated by the city's convenient transportation network, well-developed infrastructure and stunning pace of development. "The development and changes of Chinese society have been amazing," Ali said, "and I have been deeply impressed by the trait of the dedication of the locals in Wuhan."
You can often sense the trait mentioned by Ali while wandering in this city.
Every day at 18:00, the traffic gradually becomes congested. After arriving at her post, Du Yiqi, leader of the Women's Fast-riding Team of the Traffic Brigade of Jiang'an District, turns on the warning lights on her shoulders and waist before stepping into the traffic island in the middle of the road. She guides traffic flows in an orderly and calm manner despite that her figure can be easily hidden by the cars passing by.
The Women's Fast-riding Team is the most intuitive representative of the Traffic Brigade and the local public security system for the public. They appear in times of crisis and leave fast once the cases are solved, to ensure the safety of vehicles and pedestrians. Usually, they are not only responsible for the safety of students on their way to and from school but also have to publicize traffic regulations in their district. The countless tasks have made their days busy with no break. With unique skills, all members try their best in their positions and devoted themselves to the fulfillment of their responsibilities.
They are security ambassadors renowned for preserving order. They are the guardians nourishing friendship by helping others. They are all witnesses of and participants in the development of Wuhan. They pay tribute to the Heart-warming City with the power of youths!
