On June 9, the Sichuan-European & African Friendship Cities Dialogue on World Heritage was successfully held in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province. Participants had in-depth exchanges and reached a consensus to strengthen international cooperation in heritage protection together.

Zhang Yechu, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan Province, said that the world heritage is the crystallization of the wisdom of human civilization, and it has built a bridge for exchanges and dialogues between different countries and different ethnic groups.

Qu Xing, Deputy Director-General of UNESCO, spoke highly of the fact that this dialogue provides an important opportunity for cities around the world to cooperate and promote the protection of world heritage.

Friendship cities shared online their heritage protection experience cases, such as the Byzantine and Christian Museums and the Grand Place in Brussels, and had in-depth communication themed on the protection and development of world heritage, with related persons in charge and experts from Dujiangyan City, Emeishan City, Qianwei County, Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area Management Committee, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area Administration, and Huanglong Scenic Area Administration. They unanimously passed the "Sichuan-European & African Friendship Cities  World Heritage Dujiangyan Initiative", and will promote the sharing of complementary advantages and resources, and work together to strengthen international cooperation in heritage protection in the future.
