From 2012 to 2022, China has changed dramatically and made extraordinary achievements in many fields.

Over the past ten years, Zhengzhou has been specifying its city position and proactively integrating itself into the national strategy. Zhengzhou, as a National Central City, has been promoting its modernization and high-quality internationalized development. The past decade has witnessed Zhengzhou's efforts in inheriting and promoting its profound culture, and injecting the ancient city with new vitality. Over the past ten years, Zhengzhou has also overcome multiple difficulties in enhancing people's happiness and making the city more livable.

In 2012, the Plan of the Central Plains Economic Region was approved. In 2013, the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone was approved and the first Zhengzhou-Europe Railway Express train was put into operation. In 2016, Zhengzhou was approved to build a national central city. In 2018, Zhengzhou has become a megacity with a population of over 10 million and its total economic volume has surpassed CNY 1 trillion. In 2019, the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin were elevated to a major national strategy. In 2022, with the completion of Henan's star-shaped high-speed railway network, which made the province take the lead in the construction of the railway networks of the same kind, Zhengzhou has planned to build an international consumer center city from a high starting point, and made every effort to shape the cultural brand of "Understand China from Zhengzhou". In the past ten years, Zhengzhou has taken the lead as a national central city and made great strides forward as an international city, casting an important milestone in the history of its development.

In 2022, the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will be launched. This year is an important year for embarking on a new journey toward the second centenary goal of fully building a modern socialist country, and a key year for Zhengzhou to start accelerating its modernization as a national central city.

Zhengzhou, bearing in mind the ardent wish of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, takes "being a national team, enhancing internationalization and leading the construction of a modern Henan Province" and "building a national model city of innovation, advanced manufacturing, openness and talents" as its overall goals, strives to forge ahead and take charge, deeply implements the "ten strategies", endeavors to play a leading role in economic development and social governance in Henan Province, and makes new and greater contributions to serve the overall situation of Henan Province and the whole country.

Welcoming the opening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Zhengzhou is embarking on a new journey. In order to help Zhengzhou in "becoming 'highland', building peaks and moving forward" and show the magnificent picture of Zhengzhou in the past decade, with the support of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhengzhou Municipal Committee, CRI Online of China Media Group, together with Office of the Cyberspace Affairs Commission of the CPC Zhenghou Municipal Committee, launched the themed publicity project of Ten Years·Amazing Zhengzhou! The project highlights the extraordinary achievements made by Zhengzhou since the 18th CPC National Congress, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and shows the beautiful course of the people's increasing sense of access, happiness and security.

Zhengzhou is well prepared for marching forward to present a new chapter of its progress. As a thriving and growing city of the future, it is striving to make epochal achievements for the world.
