According to Xie, he settled in Chengdu because of the comfortable life and rich cultural heritage here. For Xie, Chengdu is really a city that he does not want to leave. He admires the optimism and contentment of Chengdu people. Xie said,"In my opinion, my friends in Chengdu never over worry about things which should be anxious or worried about. They just let things evolve naturally. They live a happy life and when faced with difficulties, they can take it easy quickly."

As a foreign teacher, Xie said,"Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the cradle of TCM talents, and I am honored to be a teacher at my alma mater. Here I can not only convert the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine I have learned into teaching, but also pass on the traditional culture of my country to more people."
