Zigong High-tech Zone Selected as National Pilot Demonstration Park for Powerful Country Construction of Intellectual Property Rights

A few days ago, the China National Intellectual Property Administration announced the List of National Pilot Demonstration Counties for the Powerful County Construction of Intellectual Property Rights and the List of National Pilot Demonstration Parks for the Powerful Country Construction of Intellectual Property Rights. Zigong High-tech Zone has been selected as a national pilot demonstration park for powerful country construction of intellectual property rights.

Established in 1992, Zigong High-tech Industrial Development Zone is one of the first batch of provincial high-tech zones in Sichuan Province. In 2011, it was upgraded to Sichuan's third national high-tech zone after Chengdu and Mianyang. Set up 30 years, closely adhered to the essence of high quality and new technology, the district has accelerated its innovation-driven development, transformation development, leaping and high-quality development, growing into the major recipient of national energy saving and environmental protection equipment manufacturing industrialization demonstration base, national new material high-tech industrialization base and national demonstration park of industry transformation and upgrading of old industrial city and the national innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base. Among them, the energy saving and environmental protection equipment manufacturing has been selected as one of the first batch of national strategic emerging industrial clusters.

In the past five years, focusing on the goal of "building a happy and livable new city and a 100-billion-yuan industrial park", Zigong High-tech Zone has achieved fruitful results in high-quality development. In 2021, the GDP of Zigong High-tech Zone increased by 10.0 percent, achieving "five consecutive championships" in Zigong City. The growth rate of industrial added value above designated size ranked first in the city for four consecutive years. The annual growth rate of fixed asset investment was 11.6 percent, and the operating revenue of the zone exceeded CNY 100 billion in advance, and its comprehensive strength ranked among the forefront of national-level high-tech zones in Sichuan.
