The Great Underground Tunnels of China

During World War II, the Chinese people applied the tactics of guerrilla warfare to break the siege of Japanese invaders. With the help of civilians, guerrilla soldiers dug out complex networks of underground tunnels on the north plains with exits at the most unexpected places. Such tunnels stretched for thousands of kilometers and later became fascinating features in popular wartime films.
