Hexia Ancient Town, a scenic area located in Hexia Sub-district, Huai'an District, Huai'an City, boasts a history of over 2,500 years.

The town used to be very busy due to its geographical advantages. The Grand Canal, which played a significant role in the transportation system in ancient China, brought a great number of visitors to the town.

The main tourist attractions in this scenic area include Huzui Street, the Former Residence of Han Xin, the former residence of Wu Cheng'en, Wu Jutong' Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhuangyuan Building, Wenlou Building and Wensi Temple. These famed spots in Hexia Ancient Town integrate water transport culture, imperial examination culture, religious culture, health and leisure culture, and food culture. This old town is also home to a number of notabilities in the history. Bridges have recorded development and changes all these years. The stone-paved roads and the time-honored stores witnessed the glorious history of the town.

As one of the core historical and cultural sites under protection in Huai'an, the distinct functions of the town have been fully activated, with the integrated development of "culture plus tourism" accelerated. Hexia Ancient Town presents its charm with unique historical and cultural heritage. The pearl beside the Grand Canal will shine more brightly in the future.
