China-Singapore Youth Development Forum Held in Suzhou

Under the theme of "Gathering the Power of Youths and Cooperating for Innovation and Development", China-Singapore Youth Development Forum was held on July 10 in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province. The forum was hosted by the All-China Youth Federation and the National Youth Council of Singapore, organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Youth Federation and the People's Government of Suzhou Municipality, and coordinated by the Suzhou Industrial Park Management Committee and the Suzhou Municipal Youth Federation.

More than 100 young representatives from China and Singapore participated in the forum. Shakpat, the Head of All-China Youth Federation, Wu Qingwen, the Mayor of Suzhou, and David Chua, the Executive Director of the National Youth Council of Singapore attended the forum and delivered speeches.

In recent years, China and Singapore have actively promoted innovative cooperation and created a number of high-level cooperative projects represented by Suzhou Industrial Park, said Shakpat. He hopes that young people from China and Singapore will have lofty aspirations, be down-to-earth, seize unprecedented opportunities brought about by deepening regional economic integration, contribute youthful strength to developing a comprehensive high-quality forward-looking partnership between the two countries, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

According to Wu Qingwen, Suzhou regards China-Singapore cooperation as a long-term strategy for urban development, regards open innovation as an important direction for bilateral cooperation, regards two-way investment as an important feature of bilateral cooperation, and regards cultural exchanges as an important link for deepening cooperation. He hopes that China and Singapore will work together to create more opportunities for young talents so that they could build a bright future through cooperation and innovation.

David Chua hopes the two countries can help young people establish more contacts, promote mutual learning of advanced experience in innovation fields, strengthen knowledge exchange, and consolidate cooperative spirit.

The forum also included a signing ceremony for China-Singapore youth entrepreneurship projects. Representatives from the All-China Youth Federation, Jiangsu Provincial Youth Federation, the People's Government of Suzhou Municipality, Suzhou Industrial Park and the National Youth Council of Singapore jointly unveiled the "China-Singapore Youth Development Forum".
