On September 26, the Beijing Intertwined with Tradition and Modernity – Sharing Session of Overseas Communication Project of "Charming Beijing" TV Series was successfully hosted in Beijing.
The "Charming Beijing" TV Series, a notable overseas communication project, was established through collaboration between the Information Office of Beijing Municipality and CRI Online of China Media Group. The project aims to strengthen cultural exchange between China and the international community. Since its inception in 2019, the project has invited film crews from 12 countries to visit Beijing for interviews, video shooting, co-production, and broadcasting of TV series centered around the theme of showcasing the charm of Beijing.
In 2023, China and Brazil will celebrate the 30th anniversary of our strategic partnership. China and Germany will commemorate the 50th anniversary of our diplomatic relationship. To honor these milestones, this year's "Charming Beijing" project has specially invited filming teams from Brazil and Germany. They will have the opportunity to witness the seamless blend of traditional culture and modern technology in contemporary Beijing.
During the Cultural Development and Preservation sharing session, Daniela Tassy from Brazil, Founder of Women zouba Tourism Consulting Company and an actress in the film The Wandering Earth II, shared her experiences in Beijing. Wang Xiaoting, the responsible planner of Shichahai Sub-district, discussed how the alleys of Beijing integrate modern life while retaining their traditional charm. Zhang Zhongqiang, an inheritor of Beijing Painted Clay Sculptures, and Wang Jing, Head of Operations of Qiankun Space, shared their insights on protecting and passing on traditional culture.
During the subsequent speech session, Tarcisio Secoli, Leader of Brazil TVT's production team, expressed his aspiration to showcase the genuine Beijing and China to the Brazilian audience through the television series produced during this event.
During the Science and Technology Innovation Development and Future sharing session, Wang Rui, Leader of the special task force at Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park, shared insights on the park's growth and progress. Song Zhixiang, Senior Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Department at Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd., discussed technological innovation and collaborative research in Beijing's rail transit system. Jennifer Kerstin Zhang, a German entrepreneur and founder of Tada Culture and Technology Co., Ltd., along with her Chinese husband Zhang Dingran, and Florian Reineke, Senior Manager of Berlin Business Desk China, shared their personal experiences and stories related to cultural exchange and business cooperation between China and Germany.
In his remarks, Fred Turnheim, Leader of the German film team, expressed his satisfaction with the visit to the 2023 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference and the opportunity to experience autonomous vehicles at Shougang Park. He emphasized that the utilization of these new technologies holds the key to Beijing's remarkable achievements.
The 2024 edition of the "Charming Beijing" TV Series overseas communication project plans to invite additional teams from different countries to visit Beijing for interviews and video shooting. This project aims to enhance people's familiarity and affection for the city, helping them develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for Beijing.
