Jungar Banner Diversifies Economic Pattern through Photovoltaic Power Generation

Jungar Banner boasts huge energy reserves. In September 2021, it was listed as a national county (district/city) rooftop distributed solar photovoltaics development pilot. In recent years, in accordance with the work principle of "policy guarantee, demonstration guidance, and diversified development", Jungar Banner has promoted rooftop distributed solar photovoltaics development pilot projects by utilizing roofs of buildings such as party and government buildings, village households, industrial and mining commercial properties, and their ancillary building facilities according to local conditions, in order to diversify the economic pattern through photovoltaic power generation.

In order to promote the pilot in a scientific and orderly manner, Jungar Banner has facilitated rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation projects in a diversified approach step by step. In rural areas, models featuring "photovoltaic power generation + clean heating" and "photovoltaic power generation + smart irrigation" were applied to build photovoltaic power generation systems on top of existing residential buildings, new rural centralized relocation housing, village collective public facilities, and agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery facilities.

Since the beginning of the project, Jungar Banner provides access for eligible enterprises to participate in the market competition in accordance with voluntariness, free competition, and smooth production without acting beyond authority.

"As a county with huge energy reserves, in order to accelerate the transformation of the entire Banner's energy structure, Jungar Banner has begun to develop renewable energy since the 14th Five-Year period. So far, renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 4,730,000 kw of have been approved," Said Guo Baoyi, staff of Planning Section of Jungar Banner Energy Bureau.
