As the 2024 Spring Festival approaches, the national-level intangible cultural heritage event, the Shanghai Yuyuan Garden Lantern Festival, arrives as scheduled. Yuyuan Garden is one of the most popular spots in Shanghai during the Spring Festival period. This year, coinciding with the Lunar Year of the Dragon, the garden is transformed into a wonderland of Eastern aesthetics, filled with ocean treasures and dragon elements, drawing crowds that are as vast as mountains and seas.
This year's Yuyuan Lantern Festival introduced a themed display called "A Night of Fish and Dragon Dance," where colorful schools of fish symbolize the happiness and good fortune of the Dragon Year, showcasing the charm of traditional Chinese culture. The festival opened on the evening of January 21st and will continue until February 29th, lighting up every night until 10 PM for a viewing period of 40 days.
As the foundational support for this festival, ensuring flawless electricity supply is particularly crucial. Prior to the opening of the Yuyuan Lantern Festival, customer managers from the State Grid Shanghai Municipal Power Supply Company made multiple visits to the garden to conduct safety hazard inspections and treatments, ensuring that equipment was in "healthy working order." They also coordinated with the garden's electricians to carefully review the load conditions of various types of lighting fixtures, artistic lanterns, air conditioning heating systems, and catering kitchens, meticulously safeguarding the safe and reliable use of electricity throughout the festival.
