Online International Communication Event visited Zhegao Ancient Town in Chaohu county-level city, Hefei Province on September 24. During their visit, they explored the ancient town, sampled four famous traditional Zhegao breakfast dishes—Shredded Dried Bean Curd in Sauce, Stir-Fried Noodles, Egg Pastries, and Sanxian Stir-Fried Crispy Rice Soup—and learned how to make hand-made rice flour for Steamed Meat with Rice Flour.

When it comes to Hefei delicacies, Zhegao in the east and Sanhe in the west are considered excellent choices for enjoying local cuisine. Having traditional breakfast in Zhegao once was especially popular among locals. Zhegao Ancient Town, situated in Chaohu, boasts a rich history and culture spanning 3,000 years. Its traditional breakfast culture is well-known throughout the Jianghuai region. During the Qing Dynasty, Zhegao Ancient Town flourished commercially, becoming especially vibrant at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. The town had nine streets and thirteen alleys, all thriving with activity.
