There are over 25,000 guesthouses in Zhejiang Province, ranking first in the country. The total number of beds exceeds 300,000, and the annual revenue is nearly 10 billion yuan, accounting for nearly half of the total revenue of guesthouses in the country, driving employment for nearly 200,000 people. At present, when governments at all levels strongly advocate strengthening the protection of rural characteristic features and promoting the green transformation of rural tourism development, the all-electric transformation of guesthouses is particularly important.
On November 6, 2023, the Zhejiang Provincial Electric Power Industry Association released the group standard "Construction Standards for All-Electric Guesthouses" (T/ZDL 010 - 2023). Under the guidance of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company, this standard was specifically compiled by enterprises such as State Grid Zhejiang Taishun County Power Supply Company, providing technical guidance for the construction and promotion of all-electric guesthouses. This is also the first guiding specification for the construction and evaluation of all-electric guesthouses in China.
In Taishun County, Zhejiang Province, there is a guesthouse named "Hidden in the Empty Mountain". It is a unique courtyard combining new and old elements in the wabi-sabi style, integrating high aesthetics and literary temperament. In the spring of 2023, the "Hidden in the Empty Mountain" guesthouse project began its planning and construction from the vacant houses in the village. The State Grid Zhejiang Taishun County Power Supply Company provided guidance for the construction, transformation and operation of the all-electric guesthouse for this project, reducing the electricity cost of the guesthouse from the source and making it more environmentally friendly.
Inside the "Hidden in the Empty Mountain" guesthouse, equipment such as an intelligent temperature control system, automatic curtains, and a security system are all available. The intelligent lighting system automatically adjusts according to the external light perception, and pleasant light music flows from the intelligent audio system. The guesthouse has newly installed solar water heaters, the kitchen on the first floor has been converted to electric cooking utensils, and all the rooms have been electrified.
"The roof of the guesthouse is installed with photovoltaic panels. The expected electricity generation can offset expenditures of about 1,000 yuan," the owner introduced proudly. The Hidden in the Empty Mountain guesthouse project is the first all-electric guesthouse in Taishun County. According to estimations, after the electrification transformation, the Hidden in the Empty Mountain guesthouse can increase the electricity by 31,000 kWh annually, which is equivalent to 3.81 tons of standard coal and reduces carbon emissions by 10.31 tons.
The expert from the marketing department of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company introduced that the all-electric guesthouses in Zhejiang have also been connected to the "All-Electric Guesthouse Energy Control Platform". Through this platform, the energy consumption status of the guesthouses, indoor and outdoor environmental parameters, and the operating parameters of equipment and systems are monitored in real time. Based on the monitoring data, the power supply department regularly conducts energy consumption analysis and assists in formulating energy-saving plans, thereby intelligently controlling the energy-consuming equipment of the guesthouses to always maintain a "green" operating state.
