On September 12, the Ninth Colourful World - Cultural Exhibition of Countries along the Belt and Road (hereinafter referred to as the "Colourful World") kicked off at Hall 10 of Shougang Park. The event is hosted by the Information Office of Beijing Municipality and organized by CRI Online of China Media Group and Beijing Performance and Arts Group, strongly backed by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.

Inside the hall, representatives of countries such as Cuba, Indonesia, Nepal, Peru and Tajikistan presented their national costumes, along with a rich array of performances featuring solos and dances.

As an important part of the culture and tourism section of the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services, the Colourful World explores the connotations and implications of the distinctive cultures of the Belt and Road partner countries. In cooperation with Beijing Performance and Arts Group, the event presented a feast with strong international influence and a great number of cultural elements through a series of activities, including performances showcasing unique cultures, promotional sessions for cultural and tourism programs, and a stamp-collecting activity in which event-exclusive passports are needed.

A total of 36 embassies in China and international organizations participated in the event to promote their cultural products, handicrafts, clothing, and musical instruments to the visitors. There is also a dazzling variety of the "Colourful Goods" copyrighted cultural products. In addition, visitors can partake in interactive activities, such as collecting stamps on their "Silk Road Souvenir Passports" to obtain "Silk Road Lucky Bags", and sending well-wishes through the "Silk Road Post Office". The "Colourful World - Creative Youth" China-EU Cultural Communication Activity was also launched for the first time, with another cultural exchange activity named "Colourful Tea and Coffee" to be rolled out soon for the first time.
The event will run until September 16, featuring daily performances presented by Beijing Performance and Arts Group on the main stage inside the hall. Attendees can also enjoy captivating performances from the China Pingju Opera Theatre, the China National Acrobatic Troupe, and the China Puppet Art Theatre.
