“Just by opening the valve of the irrigation well, the sprinkler system keeps operating 24 hours a day, and over 1,000 mu (164.7 acres) of land can be watered in just two days.” Recently, Yue Baohong, a major grain producer from Yuemapeng Village, Beiguo Town, Wuzhi County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, stated that relying on high-standard farmland construction has not only made irrigation easier and farming more convenient but also reduced the cost of grain production and significantly improved agricultural productivity.
In 2024, Jiaozuo City plans to create 300,000 mu (49,421 acres) of wheat high-yield demonstration area and 100,000 mu (16,473.7 acres) of high-yield demonstration area with the yield of grain per mu in two seasons a year reaches one and a half tons (1,500 kg), aiming to drive a balanced increase in wheat production across a large area through these pilot projects.
