Recently, in the rice fields belonging to Wang Tianwu, a resident of Sicun Village in Cuizhuang Township, Nanzhao County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, golden rice spikes bent under their weight, emitting a rich aroma. Wang Tianwu told the staff from State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company, who were inspecting the electricity safety: “This year, the rice faced the dual challenges of drought and floods. From irrigation to drainage, I am grateful for the reliable electricity supply. The yield per acre has significantly increased compared to last year.”

To support the autumn harvest and planting, 12 service teams from the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company are actively working in the fields of Nanzhao County. Leveraging a village-network co-construction model for convenient electricity services, they have set up irrigation lines and provided power for seedling cultivation. These teams conduct comprehensive inspections of irrigation stations, power lines, and equipment used for water wells, systematically identifying and addressing potential hazards. They patrol the fields to inspect power poles and lines, checking and installing additional anti-collision warning signs near agricultural access roads. Various methods are employed to comprehensively raise awareness about the protection of power facilities and ensure safety for both people and machinery. In areas inaccessible to machinery, team members actively distribute informational leaflets to farmers, explaining safe electricity use to prevent risky issues such as the stacking of rice straw and hay under high-voltage lines, thereby avoiding potential accidents and eliminating safety hazards.
Next, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company will continue to patrol and maintain power lines and equipment that support agricultural production. They will further strengthen the on-duty repair teams, enhance the duty system for emergency repairs, and monitor the operating load and voltage quality of distribution transformers in real time. Additionally, they will ensure that repair vehicles and materials are fully prepared to safeguard the villagers’ agricultural production.
