On November 20, after more than a month of operational testing, a 150 MW/300 MWh grid-side energy storage station in Huai'an, Jiangsu successfully achieved full charge and discharge, which marks the official launch of this "super power bank" project, injecting new momentum into local efforts to ensure stable power supply during the winter peak season. With the commissioning of this station, the installed capacity of grid-side energy storage in Huai'an has reached 405 MW.
The newly operational energy storage station, located in Jinhu County, represents a total investment of approximately 650 million RMB. It utilizes a standardized containerized liquid-cooled lithium iron phosphate energy storage system, functioning like a giant "power bank" to enhance the region's peak load capacity for short-term emergency management.

In recent years, leveraging Jinhu County's abundant natural resources and high share of renewable energy installations, as well as the grid's high penetration of renewables, the State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company has focused on prioritizing efficient renewable energy integration and high local utilization rates by improving three core autonomous capabilities: self-management, self-balancing, and self-regulation. Meanwhile, the company is advancing unified planning and coordinated development of power sources, grids, loads, and storage. It also emphasizes multi-level operational control, interactive collaboration, robust market policies, and efficient execution. These efforts aim to create a robust, digital and intelligent power grid that integrates seamlessly with the broader power network while coordinating with distributed microgrids.

The completion and commissioning of this project hold significant implications for the State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company. It accelerates the development of the "Jinhu Zero-Carbon County Autonomous Power System," enhances the stability of renewable energy generation in Jinhu, and promotes the safe and stable operation of the local power grid while improving renewable energy utilization in the region.
