Houqiao Sub-district, Xishan District, Wuxi: Bountiful Harvests in Rural Revitalization and the Initiation of a New Journey of Intelligent Agriculture

In recent years, Houqiao Sub-district of Xishan District, Wuxi City has explored a way to develop the modern agricultural countryside characterized by "technology empowerment, brand leadership, and harmonious coexistence," featuring a new development pattern that takes scientific and technological innovation as the driving force, brand building as the key approach, and the improvement of people’s livelihood as the goal.

Houqiao Sub-district has harnessed the power of its "New Generation Farmers" to drive technological integration, facilitating the transformation of traditional fisheries into efficient, green, and intelligent operations. Local enterprises have achieved breakthroughs in artificial breeding technologies for the "Three Delicacies of the Yangtze River." They have built an intelligent breeding management system utilizing Internet of Things and big data technologies. Additionally, centered on Australian freshwater lobsters, a comprehensive industrial chain of "seedling and breeding - ecological farming - technical services" has been established. Actively exploring a new model of rural revitalization led by brands, Houqiao Sub-district, based on the ecological foundation of the "Jiangnan Water Town," has created the "Houqiao's Exquisite Gifts" series of brands, developed the cultural and tourism IP of "Wanshan Lake in Four Seasons," and vigorously promoted the large-scale breeding and farming of the "Three Treasures of the Yangtze River," crayfish, hairy crabs, etc., as well as the demonstration of three industries (aquaculture, aquatic product processing, and agriculture-tourism-education-culture integration).
