During this year’s May Day holiday, a significant number of tourists opted for new energy vehicles (NEVs) for self-driving trips. Huangshi City in Hubei Province has been continuously improving its urban-rural charging network while enhancing maintenance services for charging facilities to ensure green travel for NEV owners.

At 7 a.m. on May 1st, Wu Zhiwei, assistant director of the Sanxi Power Supply Station under State Grid Huangshi Power Supply Company, was already at work at the charging station in Sanxi Service Area along the Huangshi section of the Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway. Wu explained that the Sanxi Service Area charging station, located on the route to Yangxin County in Huangshi, currently has six fast chargers and serves as a crucial "pit stop" for passing NEV drivers. To ensure smooth travel during the May Day holiday, inspection frequency was increased to maintain the safety and reliability of the charging facilities.

Dozens of kilometers away, at the charging station at Xiandao Lake scenic area in Wangying Town, Yangxin County, Ma Jun and other employees from the Wangying Power Supply Station were also on duty. Ma noted that many tourists drive NEVs to visit Xiandao Lake, making this station a key charging point during holidays.
