Ningbo: "Joyful and Happy New Year" Activities with More Than 40,000 Volunteer Services

During the Spring Festival, Ningbo City widely launched the "joyful and happy New Year" volunteer service activities attracting more than 390,000 volunteers. And a total of more than 40,000 volunteer service activities were carried out, directly serving nearly 1 million people.

South Railway Station Management Center in Haishu District integrated five volunteer teams in the area to provide special passengers with more convenience through volunteer service projects. According to the statistics, during the Spring Festival, the volunteers helped more than 1,300 passengers in total, involving medical assistance, lost and found, of which barrier-free transfer was realized for 16 handicapped people.

Peking Opera, Yueju Opera, sketches, dance, fashion show, saxophone playing... During the Spring Festival, nearly 200 volunteers, from Love Art Troupe of Red Ants Volunteer Service Headquarters in Yinzhou District, Ningbo, after pre-preparatory rehearsal, went into the three homes for the elderly to gave performances, sending a different holiday greetings.

The "volunteer sparkles" light up thousands of homes. According to the Ningbo Municipal Party Committee Social Work Department, the "Joyful and Happy New Year" volunteer theme activities cover warming care, public security and other areas. (Text Wangjia)
