Spring is the perfect time for kite flying.  The State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has taken proactive measures to prevent kite-related electric shock incidents due to contact with power lines. Local power supply stations have organized staff to carry out special inspections of 10 kV high and low-voltage lines in the area. They have also strengthened control over overhead lines and poles, conducted thorough inspections in key districts, and assigned personnel for monitoring and protection in designated zones. Moreover, staff meticulously monitored open areas and small squares near electrical equipment where kite flying might occur, ensuring immediate identification and elimination of hazards. Additionally, they explained to the public the dangers of flying kites near power lines and guided them to safe areas away from these lines. Relevant personnel were sent to kite-selling stalls and popular kite-flying spots to explain the risks of kites getting entangled in power lines. Clear signs were hung up to raise public awareness about power line safety.

Looking ahead, State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company will continue implementing concrete measures to enhance safety awareness and conduct equipment inspections. Meanwhile, it will leverage various media platforms, including WeChat groups for power services, informing the public about the dangers of flying kites, planting trees, building houses, or starting work near power lines. The Company is fully committed to safeguarding the power grid and protecting the life and property of the public.
