Electricity Illuminates Spring Fields

A gentle spring breeze sweeps across the land of southern Jiangxi, bringing forth a vibrant scene of life. On March 11, in the thousand-acre high-standard farmland of Zhentou Village, Longyuanba Town, Quannan County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, farmers are busily engaged in seedling cultivation. They are nurturing healthy rice seedlings in the shimmering paddy fields, laying a solid foundation for future growth and harvest.

State Grid Ganzhou Power Supply Company staff arrived early in the fields to conduct a comprehensive "health check" on power lines and equipment essential for spring plowing. During the inspection, they educated farmers on safe electricity usage, distributed safety manuals, and provided on-site guidance on the proper use of agricultural electrical equipment. Silver wires crisscrossing the fields channel vital electrical energy into rotating pumps, with each seedling carrying the hope of a bountiful harvest.

On the same day, amid a golden sea of blooming rapeseed flowers in Lianshi Town, Anyuan County,  company staff used drones to conduct a three-dimensional special inspection of the 10-kilovolt Banming Line. To address the surge in electricity demand for spring irrigation, the company introduced an innovative "three-dimensional inspection" model. Ground personnel used infrared thermometers to conducted thorough checks on each tower, while drones equipped with high-definition cameras carried out "eagle-eye scans" from above, focusing on detecting hidden issues such as hardware corrosion and insulator damage.

To date, State Grid Ganzhou Power Supply Company has conducted comprehensive inspections of 289 key power lines for spring plowing, eliminating 36 defects and potential hazards, ensuring that electricity continues to illuminate the spring fields. (By Liu Yiqun, Li Shihong, and Wang Fang)
