Spring Plowing's "Electric Engine" Irrigates a Promising "Harvest" Scene

“The voltage is stable, and the smart irrigation system is operating smoothly!” On March 18, Zheng Sheng, a district manager from the Bailongqiao Power Supply Office of the State Grid Jinhua Electric Power Company, completed the line renovation in Xiayang Village, Wucheng District. Yang Guifang, a large-scale grain farmer, scooped up two handfuls of soil and exclaimed excitedly, “Land nourished by ample water and reliable electricity seems full of vitality!”

As a key figure in large-scale local agriculture, Yang Guifang has meticulously allocated 20 acres out of his contracted 1,000 acres of fertile land so as to build a modern seedling cultivation base. However, traditional irrigation methods hinder progress. “The ditch water contains impurities and is too cold, reducing the seedling survival rate to below 70%.” This year, he invested in a smart irrigation system but faced challenges as the existing power lines could not meet the demand. The State Grid Jinhua Electric Power Company’s Spring Plowing Service Team responded swiftly. Following an on-site inspection by the Bailongqiao Power Supply Office, the power line renovation and meter installation were completed in just two working days, ensuring stable power supply for the deep well pump station.

With the increasing integration of technology in agriculture, farmers are demanding higher-quality power supply. The State Grid Jinhua Electric Power Company has specially established 15 “Electric Spring Plowing Service Teams.” Since the beginning of the year, they have assisted 22 farmers with 30 tasks, deploying extensive personnel across  vast farmland. This has boosted the seedling survival rate to 95% and enhanced water resource efficiency by 10%.

Going forward, the State Grid Jinhua Electric Power Company will continue enhancing high-quality electricity services and proactively addressing the diverse power demands of farmers during spring plowing and preparation.
