Recently, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company deployed professionals to inspect 110kV power lines using drones. These comprehensive inspections effectively identified potential hazards, ensuring grid reliability.
The inspections leveraged innovative technology, combining artificial intelligence and drones to examine critical components such as poles and towers, insulators, and conductors. Drones equipped with high-definition cameras and infrared thermography collected real-time data. AI algorithms rapidly analyzed captured images and temperature data, enabling precise identification of equipment defects and potential risks. These efforts significantly enhanced inspection efficiency and accuracy.
During the inspections, staff prioritized risk assessments of construction sites and vegetation growth near transmission corridors. Corrective measures were swiftly implemented for identified issues. Moreover, leveraging drones' built-in algorithms and visual monitoring systems, they conducted model analysis during autonomous inspections and unmanned monitoring, achieving accurate early warnings. As a result, they successfully prevented 19 instances of unauthorized construction beneath power lines.
The company distributed educational materials and posted warning signs to raise public awareness about power infrastructure protection. These preventive actions effectively mitigated risks of external damage.
The company has inspected 27 power lines and mitigated 14 identified hazards with AI assistance. Looking ahead, the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company will continue expanding its integration of drones and AI in grid maintenance. This initiative will further enhance system reliability and power distribution security.
