Zhaoxing Dong Village in Guizhou Hosts Guyu Festival Celebrations

From April 19th to 20th, Zhaoxing Dong Village in Liping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, hosted a series of events for the Guyu Festival. The festivities comprised two main components: traditional folk activities and the opening ceremony of the 2025 “Village Songs – Let the World Hear” initiative, along with a demonstration and exhibition of the “Four Seasons Village Songs” program.

These activities, held under the theme “Celebrate Folk Traditions, Revel in Guyu, Pray for Abundance,” included welcoming ceremonies, harvest prayers, and blessing rituals. They highlighted the symbolic meanings embedded in the Dong people’s traditional farming culture and matrimonial customs, further showcasing the ethnic cultural heritage and humanistic charm of Qiandongnan Prefecture.
