Nanyang, Henan: Strengthening the Power Grid "Firewall" with Spring Patrols

Recently, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company organized operation and maintenance personnel to carry out special inspections of key spring fire-prevention power lines, such as the 10-kilovolt Guocheng Line, thoroughly identifying fire hazards to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid.

To build a solid fire prevention barrier, the company has established a dedicated spring fire prevention and power protection task force, designating power lines that run through forests and farmlands as key protection targets. A combined approach of manual patrols and drone inspections is used to comprehensively examine critical parts of mountainous areas, including pylons, insulators, and grounding devices. Drones conduct high-altitude, detailed inspections in areas with complex terrain, while infrared thermometers monitor the temperature of clamps and switchgear contacts to prevent potential fire risks caused by overheating.

For power lines in mountainous areas, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company has established an information-sharing and joint disposal mechanism with emergency management, forestry, and fire departments to dynamically coordinate fire risk alerts. The company also collaborates with local governments to carry out targeted hazard mitigation and dispatches staff to mountain villages to promote knowledge of safe electricity use, thereby improving public awareness of line protection and enhancing fire prevention capabilities.

Meanwhile, to meet spring farming electricity demands, the company has assigned distribution managers to inspect drainage systems and irrigation equipment. Safety reminders are sent to farmers via WeChat service groups and SMS platforms. Emergency supplies are being pre-positioned to ensure rapid fault isolation and power restoration in case of unexpected incidents.

Looking ahead, the State Grid Nanyang Power Supply Company will continue to deepen its spring fire prevention campaign, enhance inspections of power lines in mountainous and forested areas, and strengthen joint prevention and control efforts with government departments and local communities to build a high-standard safety defense line for the power grid.
